Terrible installation indeed.

Installation was stopped after: Active Aardvark Topsites Installation Detected! Would you like to upgrade that site to VisioList?

After clicking Yes, nothing happen. Unfortunately.

Hello didi,

If i was in your shoes, i would hire someone from VL staff. Less problems and easy job done.

Also even on fresh installation some problems can came up, but that doesnt mean that VL installation is broken.
There are many factors, and sometimes your host might give you troubles. I had same problems with GoDaddy.

If you buy something, then you expect to work fine.
Not in in this case.
The DB was created successfully. The php scripts files only make connection with DB.
Thats all.
There is significant difference among demo and working script.
I don't have problems with my host. VL requirements are very simple.
Of course, i will not hire nobody from VL staff.

Hello didi, sorry to hear you have troubles.
As cajkan mentioned, some hosting configurations are just, well, odd. Issues may arrise.

You problem sounds like one we had in the past ( vl before 1.3 ) on some hosting, where clicking the "Yes" just leads to the same page ( a issue with arrays on the hosting ), but was taken care of, at last with the members which had that problem.
Others had overly strict server security ( mod_security ) which prevented the install from going smooth.
As you see, many things could come up. While we would like to offer a stress free install across all hosting providers, such a thing is simply not always possible.

By you latest post i cant say if it installed now or not. If not, feel free to drop me a PM with site url and ftp and ill have a look what might cause the problems

To be clear installation is not the problem, upgrading from aardvark topsites is your issue.

Feel free to send FTP access to me via private message and I will get the upgrade working for you, and isolate the cause of your problems to ensure other users have smooth upgrades.

Basti, i cannot install, yet. Thanks for the link. I know this section.

In my post 2, i told about installation by Softaculous. Yes, this work fine.
But, as you know by CPanel/Softaculous you can install only free version!

Mark, ftp is ready. Please, check pm.

Probably hosting. I'm not sure. Too many thinks for today.

Wait... Why are you installing aardvark first? Why not just install visiolist the normal way?

We have installed VL for you, the installer went perfectly fine aside from the issue you chmod 777 a file that should not have been, this resulted in your server throwing error 500 when i tried to import the language file.

I have no idea why your installing aardvark first, or why you are chmod 777 files like that. Basti is updating our docs to make them even easier to follow.

Terrible installation? nope. Just need the correct hosting environment.

So, if you read you old copy of your docs called
Installing VisioListyou
, you can find info about chmod for few files and folders.

Not now, because content is changed.

I strictly observed your instructions old docs!
Step by step.

Exactly!
My hosting environment is correct!

If My hosting environment is not correct, you cannot make installation, mentioned.

So, you must provide detailed and correct readme or docs, about installation.

Now, your installation will be deleted. And i will make again, according you NEW docs!

Confirmed!

Installation process work fine!

New DB was created. Install folder, was uploaded again.

Languages files running well, perfect.

english language successfully imported and file rewritten...
russian language successfully imported and file rewritten...

chmod and some permission were the problem!

yes we updated the docs page so people would not misunderstand.

in suPHP environment you NEVER chmod anything. Chmod is only needed when you do NOT have suPHP or FastCGI handlers.
