As my categories are starting to take up most of the side column is it easy enough to create another column on the right hand side that could contain the likes of the premium members and new members and possibly a few add spots I would be willing to pay for this option.

All your websites in your signature are filled up, and if you add more would look messy. Better stick to the rule, less is more.
Yup very easy to add another column, can you send me FTP login to the list you want this on and I will add it for you. then I'll post the code here for others who may want a 3 column design.
