Add a premium service where people can pay for a fixed position in rank, for example rank 0 (abobe rank 1).
Also admins could place this extra rank wherever they want, or add more than one extra rank.

Yes, I like it as well. At the moment I'm using Featured Member plugin for that kind of idea and I placed it in top of the ranking http://www.l2.votezone.eu/ but would be nice if that would be available only if paid for it.

I believe it is possible to add banner below instead of advert. Not sure how to do it, but I would modify the carousel plugin. Or instead of banner screenshots can be used like for premium.
