Languages description

If I add a new site with say a German description when I check it in the admin part of the description is missing which I assume is due to the characters in the words. I imported the German language file but I still have the problem am I missing something.

I am not sure i get what the problem is. The german language file has nothing to do with user submitted content. Neither is any other file.

Or do you mean that just some words within it are missing?
Could you post what you tried to submit? then i could shed some light on it
