Godaddy hosting and .htaccess mod_rewrite

I have Web hosting with GoDaddy and whenever I try to save my settings. It gives me an error message. That's Index file cannot be found. So after troubleshooting I realized it is the .htaccess mod_rewrite

After punching and some random codes. It finally worked by allowing me access to the index page. However the settings are not saving.

Could somebody possibly provide me with a .htaccess mod_rewrite that will solve my problem :)

I was using Godaddy, they sux. Ive installed VL but other errors appeared too.

Ive installed VL on free host, was working just fine. They told me its script related problem, 3 days passed and ive started to get error 500, they said please check your log, its not our fault.

Overall get better host - tip from Basti :)

A full error message is needed, also if possible error log

Out of the box, no, we cannot provide you with a godaddy only option ( yes godaddy sucks ).
That requires testing to see what code actually is at fault, we do not have a godaddy account, hence cannot test this issue.

If you let us play around on your site, feel free to pm me topsite admin pass and ftp. When we found the cause we can put some commented lines in htaccess for godaddyy reference

I agree that GoDaddy does suck. I actually use HostGator and they seem to be decent. Just sometimes the SQL databases run slow. But the problem is Hostgator does not allow top sites in their terms of service. Kind of the reason I'm stuck with Go Daddy right now.

I'm going to try contacting Go Daddy after while and see if they can come up with a solution. Afterwords I may let you take a look Basti. Because regardless of whether I switched hosts to resolve this problem.

Somebody later down the road is going to have Go Daddy hosting and experiencing the same problems. Best to troubleshoot and try to resolve the problem now. Try to save somebody else the headache.

Since I use Go Daddy several years ago and dropped the hosting. Go Daddy has actually upgraded to Cpanel so things currently seem to be a little more user-friendly. If they would actually fix their .htaccess nightmare next. They would be a halfway decent host. But they need to get rid of their 1GB SQL limit before I give them any stars.

we are happy to help you resolve the issue, but we need access to your environment to figure out the godaddy specific changes.

Well you guys have any recommended hosting. That allows top sites, wordpress, and joomla. I just canceled with GoDaddy their support just made me so mad. I think that guy I was talking to was just lazy and didn't want to try fixing anything.

So any recommended hosting were not going to have any problems? That's affordable since I'm broke lmao.
