Backend working fine, but all kinds of errors on front end

I just bought visiolist and from what I have seen so far I like it. I have many plugins installed and the backend seems to be working fine, but on the front end clicking on any link gives me a 404 error. My link is http://empiredirectory.net/toplist Can someone help?

Sounds like you missed uploading the .htaccess file that was included with the download bundle. The other possibility is your host has no enabled apache mod_rewrite

Ok, I tracked it down. It appears my global apache2.conf had "AllowOverride none" set and was ignoring the .htaccess files.

Now I have another issue: screenshots aren't working. Have I been approved yet?

Hello and welcome to the VL community Fstltna,

You need to wait for Mark to approve your key, it may take a while. But overall VL is great i can say there isnt better.

I cannot, I do not see that URL in the requested list even. At the moment we have 920+ rendered screenshots, that domain is not anywhere to be seen. perhaps your server is blocking the outbound request? (mod_security?)

How do you build up the screenshot data? The site is up for regular access. Is it case sensitive? Or is it getting confused with https?

we use a linux server with headless browser, black screenshots are what happens when the process fails.

you send the domain request
my script opens browser window and grabs screenshot
then the fill sized screenshot is copied to your server
then your server resizes it

in your domains case, its failing after step 1. My screenshot server is never even seeing your request.

Is it showing now? I tried it with both http and https in all lower case. Could a JavaScript issue cause your process to fail? Should I try recreating it again?

no its not showing. Same result, no incoming request even.

no javascript could not interfere.

No idea what is going on. I deleted and recreated the listing and still get the black screen with 11kb in size. Another user signed up and their domain worked fine...

It's very odd. None of the other sites have an issue, so no idea why just this one isn't working. Could it be because it is the same host as I am running VL on?

I don't think that would have anything to do with it, I'll test right now and see how it goes for me.
