I agree, it would be nice. The skins are quite easy to make (most people make their own, its juts HTML). Time is limited, since developing the core is my main focus that is where the energy goes, skins need to be created, supported, and maintained. It adds up to a lot more time than 1 might...

With the huge todo list I have, colors and style in the admin section is really not going to be a priority. Once more urgent issues and some of the great feature requests are dealt with I can look at updating the admin panel but I think most users (and I could be wrong) would rather see...

plugins should be fine, however its possible some plugins may have been coded with mysql_ functions, if anyone experiences any of those please post in the plugin topic in the resource manager and I will make sure that plugin is updated to work with the latest version.
