So, you don't run your VisioList with english as your default language?
Here is a quick guide.
You are required to at least import English. This is the core language and fill up for missing text in your translation. This is usually done while you install your list.
Its always included in each update and is auto importing. Nothing for you to do here.
1) So at one point you imported another language which is your default. Your translation may miss a lot of phrases, which get filled in by English, not good.
1.1) The easiest thing is to wait for the language pack to update with new translated phrases
1.2) You download and unzip it. Upload it into the languages/import/ folder replacing the old one you may have in there already
1.3) Log into your admin area -> Manage Language -> Import Language -> choose the language you just downloaded
1.4) The newly added phrase from the package will be imported and are used instead of the English ones you had before
Whenever a pack receive an update you can perform step #1.2 and #1.3
Of course there also the harder way. Its for you to decide if you want to do this step
2) If you see English text, copy the phrase
2.1) Admin -> Manage Languages: Paste into search box and select English from the dropdown box
2.2) If the phrase is found, for example
It will be visually presented to you.
2.3) You will see the Phrase Name and Definition. The text we just searched for is the definition.
The Phrase name as it stands there could be pasted anywhere in your html files to make that text appear there, as a little side note
. In this case
2.4) Now, how to do the translation? Simple, following our example click "Add New Phrase"
-> phrase name = join_thanks
-> language = Your desired language
-> Definition = Your search text translation
And that's how to translate an English phrase.
This is especially useful if members wish to contribute back to the community. All they do is post in the language pack thread the phrase name and definition.
We will update the package and the next user can perform the easy import process mentioned at point #1
