plugin request

I would to see if we could get a plugin for a to add affiliates in.. like to have a small section similar to the newest member area display that would show for example supporters of your site or alternative companies you wish to support. maybe a option for text or small banner. such as i would like to support one of my developers private site. just think this would be a good option.

why not just add this to the wrapper.html template? that way you can whatever you like (image/text/video etc)

just thought it might be a plugin alot of users might like. or it could be a core feature. clearly its easy for us to add. like i said thought people might like the idea for this.
