Gateway not showing.

We're getting a lot of reports that the gateway doesn't work for sites. It seems to be most common on sites with double subdomains or not a domain, but in a folder type domain.

We found a way to fix the code so the gateway actually shows so they can get votes instead of being redirected to our topsites home page. It's changing http://topsites.rpg-directory.com/ to http://topsites.rpg-directory.com/index.php?a=in&u=easternlands

Is there a way to make the buttons by default give the second link? The a=in&u=NAME? It'd really come in handy and cut down on complaints were getting.

The feature you are refering is called "google friendly link", to be found in admin settings. If it is turn off, members gets the second vote link you mentioned. Be aware though that you loose a lot of seo power.
Existing members will also need to update their link code after you disabled that feature.

If google friendly links are turn on, the script checks http referrers, so if the vote is not coming from the domain the user registered with the vote is straight on invalid, thus not showing the gateway. This is properbly what happens on your site, they trying to vote from somewhere invalid.
If feature turn off, the vote can be maede practically from any domain, which will generally give false hits in data if you ask me :)

But your choice :)
